Previously, it was possible to include up to 10 photos or videos in a single post, but now that limit has been doubled. Instagram has increased the number of photos and videos that users can include in a single post.
As seen in the image below, Instagram has informed users that each post can now include up to 20 photos or videos. Previously, users could only use up to 10 photos or videos per post, so the amount of content that can be included in Instagram posts has now doubled.
The Carousel feature, which allows users to create posts with multiple images or videos, was first introduced in 2017. Over time, Instagram has added more features to it, such as the ability to add music to posts and the option to share collaborative posts.
The increase in the number of media files that can be included in a single post is particularly beneficial for users who want to share posts with their friends. This change also brings Instagram closer to TikTok, which currently allows users to include up to 35 photos in a post. Although TikTok is primarily known for short videos, it offers features like meme templates that make photo-sharing surprisingly fast, and some users even use these features to tell long stories slide by slide. While this storytelling style isn’t really part of Instagram’s culture, doubling the number of photos and videos in a post could encourage users to start doing so.
This new change from Instagram is now available to all users.
