Telegram’s 11th anniversary update has been published

Now, with Star Reactions and Star Subscription, channel owners can make money from their content.

August 14 is the 11th birthday of Telegram. Since August 2013, the company says it has rolled out hundreds of new features and reached nearly 1 billion users with no marketing budget. This popular messenger has now released a new update that will be mainly useful for channel owners and content creators.

According to Telegram’s announcement, in the new update of this messenger, it is equipped with 2 features, Star Reactions and Star Subscriptions, through which it becomes easier for content producers and channel owners to earn money. Now users can directly support their favorite channels and content producers with the new Star Reactions feature.

Telegram says it receives no commission from these payments, and 100 percent of the points go to channel owners, who can then convert the stars into the digital cryptocurrency TonCoin.

The new features of the 11th anniversary update of Telegram

To enable Star Reactions on their posts, channel owners should go to the channel settings, Reactions section and enable Paid Reactions. In each post, the amount of points is shown to the channel members, although the channel admin can turn off this option so that the amount of points is not public if he wants more privacy.

Another feature of Telegram is subscription channels or Star Subscriptions. Content producers can now create special invitation links that allow channel membership in exchange for a monthly Telegram Stars subscription. To create a paid link, go to the channel settings, Channel Type section and create a new link in the “Manage Invite Links” section and activate the Require Monthly Fee option.

Also, admin bots can publish content such as videos and photos for their members, but to see that content, users must pay a certain amount of Telegram Stars. According to Telegram, when channel owners want to convert their stars into Toncoins, Telegram does not charge a fee.

Another new feature of Telegram is that now channel managers can send posts from their personal profile or another channel account anytime by clicking on their profile picture in the bottom box. Telegram calls this feature Super Channel, and to activate it, you need to go to the Administrators section in the channel settings and activate the Sign Messages option.

In the new version of Telegram on iOS, users can open content in different formats such as pdf, xls or docx in separate tabs of the Telegram browser so that they can easily move between their files and chats.

This update is currently available for all iOS users. Google Play is currently working on an Android version and will be available later. But Android users can get it directly from the Telegram website.
