Gemini Live natural conversation feature with AI is now free for all Android users

Access to Jemini Live has been made possible for free for Android users.

Google will soon release the AI voice assistant Gemini Live, which has so far only been available to Gemini Advanced subscribers, for free to all Android users.

Similar to the voice chat feature of ChatGPT, you can ask your questions to Gemini Live by voice, and even interrupt it mid-sentence. Additionally, there are several voices to choose from.

The Gemini app account on X (formerly Twitter) writes: “We are starting the free rollout of Gemini Live in English through the Android app to more people. Speak live with Gemini, explore a new topic, or develop your ideas.”

By selecting the new wave-shaped icon in the bottom-right corner of the Gemini app, you will have access to voice chat. This will activate the microphone and allow you to state your request. At the bottom of the screen, you will see options to pause Gemini’s response or end the conversation.

You can exit the Gemini app to continue using your phone or lock the screen while the conversation with Gemini Live continues. In this case, a notification will appear to end the conversation. Additionally, you can stop Live with the voice command “Stop.”

After the conversation ends, a written transcript of your requests and Gemini’s responses will be saved in the history section, allowing you to resume the conversation.

Gemini Live does not yet support Gemini plugins for integration with other apps like Gmail and YouTube Music, but this feature will be added in the future. Support for other languages and the release of the iOS version will also be coming soon.
