New Google Drive Feature: Save Scanned Documents as JPEG!

A significant new update for Google Drive has introduced a useful feature for users who frequently scan documents.

Until now, Google Drive users could scan their documents and save them as PDFs to upload to cloud storage. Over the past weekend, Google rolled out an update that offers an additional option for users. This update allows users to choose whether they want their scanned files to be saved as PDFs or JPEGs.

This feature is currently only available on Android devices using the Google Drive app. According to Google, it will be accessible to everyone in about two weeks or slightly longer.

For those who haven’t used Google Drive to scan documents before, here is a step-by-step guide:

  1. Open the Google Drive app.
  2. Click on the camera icon in the bottom right corner.
  3. Position your camera over the document you want to scan (the blue frame will show where the image will be cropped).
  4. Take a photo of your document.
  5. Adjust the scanned image as needed.
  6. Click on Done.
  7. Create a file with your chosen name.
  8. To save the scanned document in your preferred format, click on either PDF or JPEG.
  9. Click on Save to store the scanned document.

This new feature for Google Drive has recently been introduced and allows users to save their scanned documents not only in PDF format but also as JPEG files. This update is initially available only for Android devices using the Google Drive app.
